For Peace and Justice

Updated: Jul 17, 2019

The National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Alabama has left me speechless. Not only because it tells the story of how our industrial food system is rooted in our history of slavey and racism, but also because we are seeing history repeat itself. Just read some of the reasons for why black people were lynched, persecuted, and burnt alive. You will read some familiar stories that are being repeated today. As the Maya Angelo quote says "History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." We have the courage. Let's make sure we stop living history again. And, again.
